Nakhrey began with that simple idea.

As little girls, sisters Maitri and Manushi loved dressing up in their grandmothers' dupattas. What looked like one piece of fabric could suddenly make an ordinary outfit feel more special, more grown-up, more them.

They also grew up hearing plenty of opinions about colour, drape, fabric and what "really suits you." The strongest ones often came from their Nani and Dadi — both, by coincidence, named Meena Ji.

Their version of nakhrey was never about being difficult. It was about having standards. Knowing what you like. Paying attention to the little things.

That thought became Nakhrey.
